In this role as a Senior System Administrator, working for First Services, LP, an affiliate of First Bank through common ownership, you are responsible for implementing strategies and administering, desktop operating systems, and supporting their infrastructure through planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, controlling, optimizing, diagnosing and repairing these platforms. In addition, you will provide support for implementing departmental and corporate projects that support the strategic business plan. Additional responsibilities include:
Providing supervisor and group members with recommendations on system software, hardware, processing needs; system enhancements and their corresponding impact on Windows/Linux systems, telecommunications and IT security system effectiveness; provides input on the feasibility of option(s) being considered; and assists in the implementation plans, requirements and schedules
Implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use
Performing troubleshooting procedures to identify and correct basic and moderate system hardware and software errors.
Conferring with other systems personnel to discuss software and hardware induced problems. Provides technical assistance in investigating and resolving complex issues using software and hardware monitors, utilities, tools and/or vendor assistance
Interacting with and negotiates with vendors and contractors to secure hardware and software products and services and to resolve billing issues
Installing new / rebuilds existing workstations, and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Appling operating system (OS) and security patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrading administrative tools and utilities; configuring/adding new services as necessary
Upgrading and configuring system software that supports infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs
Performing periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
Monitoring systems performance, diagnose and rectify performance problems
Developing or following design and deployment standards, policies, and procedures for virtualization environments aligned to guiding principles and service standards
Practicing hardware and software asset management, including maintenance of hardware component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
Providing support during non-standard business hours, which include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays in required circumstances and is on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week as needed or as scheduled
Preparing/following standard operating procedures, including change management, incident management and using trouble-shooting procedures to resolve end-user hardware requests and problems documenting the activities and changes
Helping manage and administer data center/computer room; Ensuring the confidentiality of all types of sensitive corporate and user data
Providing 2ndlevel technical support to the Help Desk within defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements
Assisting in the design, testing and implementation of the Business Continuity plan
Continually develops professional skills in the Information Technology field through research, manuals, seminars, courses, etc.
Facilitating and managing small systems projects, as needed and providing guidance and/or instruction to junior staff members
Responsible for system administration functions on the iSeries platform, including security administration, access and privileged account control, and file/library and object management
Responsible for system administration functions on Microsoft's Team Foundation Server (TFS) environment
Responsible for system administration functions on IBM's Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) environment, including installation and support of the HATS Toolkit and enabling the HATS runtime environment
We are seeking talented individuals with the following
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university in the field of computer science or software engineering
A minimum of seven or more years equivalent work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of seven years' experience in systems administration and diagnosis and repair responsibilities
A minimum of three or more years system administration experience on iSeries platform
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft's Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Comprehensive knowledge of NetIQ Security Solutions for iSeries (PS Audit/PS Secure) required
Comprehensive knowledge of HATS, Aldon, and Tripwire preferred
Support experience with hardware infrastructure, its software and networking protocols
In-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating System configuration and deployment
Extensive experience with all aspects of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
Experience in application packaging and deployment
Proven hands-on hardware and software trouble-shooting skills
Proven experience with core software applications including Microsoft Office
Possess in-depth technical and general business knowledge
Keen attention to detail; Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong customer service and organizational skills
